CASSELS BREWING CO.

At Cassels, it’s not just about brewing beer to make profit. It’s also about making choices to do the right thing to benefit our community and our environment.

Each year we get involved in a range of projects, such as the annual Heathcote River Clean-up where we provide helpers who retrieve and sort river rubbish. Plus, we host a post-clean up sausage sizzle and beers as a reward for volunteers.

We are proud to be the key sponsor of the Banks Peninsula Festival 2021.

GREYSTONE WINES

“Imagine if you found the perfect soil, climate and environment to grow wine, but no-one had ever planted there before? If your passion was wine and North Canterbury (your turangawaewae) you would pursue to combine the two and capture it in a glass. This passion inspires us to farm organically and ferment wild to truly express our land.”

– Nick Gill, founding viticulturist

MAPU

Mapu is an experimental kitchen, not a restaurant. It’s a creative outlet for Chef Giulio Sturla to try new things, and he welcomes you to join him in his discoveries.

At Mapu, you’ll be served in-season and locally-sourced food. You’ll hear the stories about where the food comes from, who’s responsible for growing and harvesting it, and how Giulio devised the recipes you’ll enjoy.

Giulio is also competing in our ‘Mystery Box Cook Off’ at the festival – check it out!

KATHMANDU MO:MO HOUSE

Momos are an integral part of the Nepali way of life and are happily eaten at all hours of the day. If you never quite make it to Kathmandu Valley, Bikash and Sagar’s moreish Momos at Kathmandu Momo House offer an unforgettable immersion into Nepal’s rich food culture, without having to leave Canterbury soil.

Bikash and Sagar bring the authentic taste of Kathmandu to Banks Peninsula Festival, handcrafting plump steamed dumplings filled with a juicy mix of fresh meat, vegetables and a tasty thick sauce.

THE VAGABOND CHEFS

The Vagabond Chefs is Christchurch based and their most established food truck with a pretty good idea of flavour. Established in 2015, they have spent the last 5 years travelling around New Zealand serving their Asian-inspired Kiwi classics.

Orient-encrusted, crisped and spiced, or slow, smooth and distinctly Southern, a Vagabond dish is all about big-world flavours. From a humble little truck.

INDO TEMPEH HOUSE

Tempeh is a fermented soy product originating in Indonesia. Well-known as a real and super food due to its simple manufacturing process, the use-benefits of fermentation and using a very few ingredients. It is also popular among vegan and healthy-diet people as a meat substitute with rich-nutrients.

Indo Tempeh House is a family-owned NZ business, originally from Indonesia, dedicated to producing authentic and delicious tempeh.

FRITZ’S WEINERS

Fritz’s was dreamed up over a few beers between Bryan Stenning, a radio marketing executive and Todd Heller one of New Zealand’s best butchers. The idea was conceived and in late 2004 Fritz’s did their first ever event. The product was a hit – kiwi’s can’t resist a good snag and these are the best you’ll find around!

KIMBELLA’S CANDY

Kimbella’s Candy is a family owned and operated, small batch, handmade confectionery business, established in 2019 to share the delicious flavours of Old Fashioned American nut brittle with kiwi taste buds.

Our old world candy recipes have been refined and perfected using sweet, creamy, rich New Zealand butter, and the finest imported nuts and vanilla. We pride ourselves on the high quality of our confectionery products, which we ensure by hand-making each small master batch “boutique” style.

This small batch production ensures that each product you purchase will have a delicious uniformity of taste, with subtle flavour undertones unique to the master batch it came from. Our attention to taste, quality, and excellence has solidified our reputation, and keeps our customers coming back.

CAKES BY ANNA

Anna started CBA in 2012 at the Christchurch Farmers Market, selling cakes by the slice on a Saturday morning. Word spread quickly and before long she was caking full time. Since then, Cakes by Anna has grown into a busy little business, creating cakes for weddings, birthdays, any occasion that calls for celebration – or commiseration.

A Fine Arts graduate and self taught baker, she has created her own style of baking and cake decorating. This is a strictly no fondant zone, that stuff is kicked to the kerb and replaced with fresh fruit and veges, high quality ingredients, fresh flowers and herbs, anything edible that will enhance the flavour and look of a cake. There is so much beauty found in nature, and her cakes highlight that!
